Sakura Shimada

Sakura Shimada is from Japan. She came to NYC in 1997. In NYC, she has worked with Shua Group, Ei Arakawa, Jenni Hong and Aydan Turker. She has been studying and working with Daniel Lepkoff for the past 5 years and traveled through Europe, Russia, and Turkey, working with people in those places. She has been working with an improvisational approach to making dances and researching and developing a way of looking at the details of movement.
